1. Introduction

Cordyceps sinensis, known as the "king of medicinal mushrooms," is a prized traditional Chinese medicinal fungus. Its unique lifecycle involves parasitism on insect larvae. Modern advancements in fermentation technology have enabled the production of Cordyceps mycelium, offering comparable bioactive compounds with improved sustainability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

4. Safety

Cordyceps and its mycelium are generally recognized as safe. Animal studies have shown no toxicity at normal doses.
